Recap in pictures - eLSA 2025

In September 2025, the first eLSA Symposium brought together developers, safety and security experts, and decision makers from avionics, industrial, and automotive. eLSA is a scientific symposium on embedded open source software in safe and secure systems, and its first edition led to one clear conclusion: nothing stops the industry from using Linux and open source software in functionally safe and cybersecure embedded systems.

The 2nd eLSA Symposium will take place on October 1–2, 2026, again in Göttingen, focusing on cybersecurity, functional safety, and lifecycle maintenance. One question runs through all of it: how can we establish trustworthiness in terms of the relevant standards (e.g. CRA, IEC62443, and IEC 61508 or IEC62304).

The Review Committee cordially invites you to contribute. The Call for Papers is open: abstracts on embedded Linux and functional safety and cybersecurity (e.g. in the context of the CRA and the CRITIS sector) or for example functional safety/AI are welcome until July 31, 2026.

Submit your abstract, or join the discussion as a participant.
